King first approach

Kingdom-oriented entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship motivated by the kingdom of God is different from what you know from the business world, even among business people who are believers. Simply put, being a kingdom-motivated entrepreneur is not the same as being a Christian entrepreneur. When we talk about an entrepreneur being motivated by the kingdom of God, it means that his entrepreneurial endeavors are motivated by wanting to see the kingdom of God grow on earth, and that he is motivated by seeking first the kingdom of God and his righteousness.

Kingdom-centered entrepreneurship means that your business is fully submitted to God (the Chief Executive Officer) and led and empowered by the Holy Spirit (the Chief Operating Officer). They daily allow Jesus Christ to be the Lord of their entrepreneurial journey by putting the King's agenda first. They shift from a heart that says, "Here are my plans, God. Bless them!" to a heart that is focused on God's dream for their business.

Kingdom Stewardship

We bring light into the kingdom's companies

a colorful wavy 3d spectral lines on a surface

We are on a journey of discovery in the spectrum of business to discover the true definition of a Kingdom business. The Holy Spirit is bringing us more and more light into the components in the spectrum, the continuum, the absorption lines and emission lines (spectral lines) and helping us discover clean spectral lines. The realization of entrepreneurs is piecemeal and needs light in still dark areas in the spectrum entrepreneurship. Through our own businesses, but especially through counseling Christian business owners at TheNucleus, we have learned that Kingdom businesses are on a continuum. Because they are on a continuum, some faith-driven businesses have more impact than others.

Our research has led us to the realization that there are indeed components (sub-spaces) of a Kingdom entity. Each sub-space (continuum) in the spectrum has a little more influence than its predecessors. Through this realization, we have discovered that many well-meaning Christian business owners get stuck in different continuums and don't even realize it. Because they don't see the stagnation, they unknowingly miss out on greater opportunities for kingdom impact and business-led ministry. Let's take a look at each continuum on the spectrum to learn more about their implications and limitations and how you can become a nucleus-based entrepreneur in each continuum.

The first continuum is defined by values. Christian companies that define themselves by their values are everywhere. If you look at the mission statement or company plan, you will recognize words like integrity, honesty and the golden rule as the company's key differentiators. After working with many companies along this continuum, we have come to the following realization. Companies that only focus on values do not bring value to the market. We are not saying that values are not important. Not at all, on the contrary. We need biblical values in business. But values alone do not create a valuable offering; they only reveal the godly heart of the business owner.

So-called "secular companies" also tend to have the same values as Christian companies. In fact, consumers are beginning to favor mission-driven companies, regardless of their religious background, and see it as a form of personal integrity to choose a company based on its values. So in this respect, a values-driven company is simply a matter of "table stakes". Biblical values are a prerequisite, but not a differentiator.

Of course, you could argue that your definition of honesty might not mean the same thing as another company's definition of honesty. Yet this kind of distinction is largely irrelevant to the consumer. Values are a foundation, not a linchpin. Our experience has been that Christian companies that differentiate themselves on values alone will see their competition pass them by because they offer more than just values. But companies that have good values can move to continuum two.

The second continuum is all about excellence. Christian companies that focus on excellence are great at execution. They know what their customers want and they deliver what the market demands. They also tend to attract great talent and have high ratings on platforms like Google, etc. But companies intent on excellence often wonder why they never see the success of the companies that pioneered before them. Herein lies the problem with the company focused on excellence.

The excellence-oriented company will deliver what the market demands, but it offers nothing new. They simply deliver at a high level, although they could define the standard, i.e. create new markets and new products. Entrepreneurs who run excellent companies often emphasize that they may not be Tesla or Apple, but they are good stewards. There is room for growth here too.

Divine stewardship is an invitation to take what you have and with a little risk (faith steps) grow beyond what you are currently manifesting. The good news is that it is merely a coming home to the divine nucleus of the organization as Spirit is allowed to guide you. This brings us to continuum three.

The third continuum of a Kingdom enterprise involves the Spirit. In the creation account, we see that the Spirit of God hovered over the "surface of the deep". Everything was formless and empty. Soon after, something was created out of nothing with words, and a world full of good works was created. But that is not the end. The Spirit still hovers over the unformed markets and the emptiness of human needs. But now we can engage with God in the creative process. That's what a Kingdom business does in the third continuum. Leaders who want to add real value to the marketplace ask God what the real problems are (or will be) in the marketplace and then ask Him for inspiration on how to solve those problems.

The biblical story of Joseph provides us with a great example. Through a dream, God revealed to Joseph that a famine was coming to Egypt and that hard times were ahead. But he didn't tell Joseph what to do with this information. Joseph could have simply continued to lead by example, enjoyed the honor of receiving a secret revelation, and continued to do his job well. But he used his experience as a steward to create a system that stored and distributed food during a difficult economic time. God didn't explicitly tell him to do this part, he merely manifested his God-given apostolic DNA already well-trained in prison.

Joseph could have assumed that the famine was a punishment. But instead, he saw it as an opportunity to help those in need. The result was that Egypt not only survived the famine, but also made a profit selling grain to other nations. Joseph knew that revelation comes with a "wrench" - that is, when God reveals something to the leader, the leader must do something with that knowledge.

Divine revelation must be received with the heart and implemented with the hand. Christian businesses that innovate know what God is up to and use that knowledge to offer consumers a solution that connects directly to their pain and needs.

Having worked with many Kingdom companies, we have found that most companies operate in only one continuum or half-heartedly in two. With many faith-based companies, there are areas where they are indeed innovating. But thought is not always given to how these innovations are underpinned by biblical values and God's will. Likewise, some areas of the business may be very values-driven, but offer little tangible value to employees or consumers. We see the same thing with excellence: a company with excellence is far from being an innovative company.

The goal for us as Christian business owners is to prayerfully examine every part of our organization and see if they are proactively pursuing a roadmap that moves each person, department and offering toward a holistic continuum perspective based on the God-given Nucleus. We, as TheNucleus, take time with you, the leaders on your team, to evaluate your organization before God and consider what continuum you are on and what you can do to continue to grow as a Spirit-led entrepreneur. When you do, you will find that the Spirit of God is still hovering over all kinds of unformed potential in the marketplace you are in and your business.

We support you as an entrepreneur and your company to unite with your original celestial mission. We accompany the necessary purification process by jointly penetrating to your true divine nucleus and support you in uncovering your true celestial DNA (identity). On the basis of your unique celestial nucleus, we support you in the unfolding of your DNA and in the shaping of your God-given dimensions.
